This 3-person group class takes place in-person on Sat Apr 26th 2025 1pm-3:30pm at City Bean Roasters.

Learn the art and craft of the modern barista with City Bean’s experienced coffee educators.

This 2.5 hour class is espresso focused, along with basic bar training and milk steaming techniques. We will cover grind setting, coffee life span, origin, roast levels, and over/under extraction. You will gain hands-on experience with dialing-in, tamping, and using a professional-grade espresso machine to pull a delicious shot of espresso. We finish with milk texturing and your first steps towards latte art, as well as properly cleaning your equipment. 

The Beginner class is ideal for anyone seeking foundational espresso training, such as:

• Home coffee enthusiasts wanting to broaden their knowledge

• Aspiring professional baristas looking to enhance their resume

• Coffee industry professionals (sales, admin, etc) seeking cross-training

• Anyone that loves great coffee!

All class participants also leave with a complimentary 12oz bag of City Bean coffee, and receive a 10% discount on all professional barista gear in our shop (valid day of class only).

Parking:
Street parking only - West View St or La Brea Ave, both around the corner from our Jefferson Blvd entrance, typically offer the easiest parking. Please plan accordingly and be on time, class starts promptly at 9am.

Your training session is NON-REFUNDABLE. Cancellations received via email (info@citybean.com) at least 72 hours before the start of class may be rescheduled to a future session, at City Bean’s discretion.
